چکیده
Abstract Cathepsin A (CTSA) is a lysosomal protease that regulates galactoside metabolism. The previous study has shown CTSA abnormally expressed in various types of cancer. However, rarely the addressed role hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its prognostic value. To clinical value potential function HCC, datasets from Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database 136 HCC patient cohort were analyzed. expression was found to be significantly higher patients compared with normal liver tissues, which supported by immunohistochemistry (IHC) validation. Both gene ontology (GO) Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) analyses demonstrated co-expressed genes involved ATP hydrolysis coupled proton transport, carbohydrate metabolic process, lysosome organization, oxidative phosphorylation, other glycan degradation, etc. Survival analysis showed significant reduction both overall survival (OS) recurrence-free (RFS) high TCGA cohort. Furthermore, overexpression diagnostic distinguishing between tissue [Area under curve (AUC) = 0.864]. Moreover, Gene set enrichment (GSEA) correlated proteasome, lysosome, tissues. These findings demonstrate may as biomarker HCC.

Expression of cathepsin B in human hepatocellular carcinoma and its prognostic significance
The objective of this study was to analyze the expression of cathepsin B (CTSB) and its clinicopathological significance in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The expression of CTSB mRNA was analyzed in Oncomine database. The expression of CTSB protein in 90 specimens of HCC and paired non-tumor tissue microarray (TMA) was determined by immunohistochemistry. Associations of CTSB expr...
متن کاملPrognostic molecular markers in hepatocellular carcinoma (Review article
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the 5th commonest malignancy worldwide and is the third most common cause of cancer-related death. The prevalence is different in the world. The ability to predict patients at higher risk of recurrence and with a poor prognosis would help to guide surgical and chemotherapeutic treatment according to individual risk. As understanding of hepatocarcinogenesi...
متن کاملPrognostic and clinicopathologic significance of SIRT1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma
The clinical value of SIRT1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains controversial. This meta-analysis was performed to investigate the prognostic and clinicopathological significance of the histone deacetylase SIRT1 in HCC. Pooled hazard ratios (HRs) for survival outcomes and pooled odds ratios (ORs) for clinical parameters associated with SIRT1 were calculated in nine studies using Review Ma...
متن کاملHepatocellular carcinoma in a sheep
At necropsy of a five-year-old sheep, a pear shaped, lobular yellow-brownish mass measuring about 12 ×15 × 20 cm was found to involve the right hepatic lobe. Microscopic examination revealed two trabecularand solid patterns of neoplastic hepatocytes. In solid pattern, there were numerous tumoral giant cells thatcontain one or more large hyperchromatic bizarre-shaped nuclei scattered among clust...
متن کاملOncogenic function and prognostic significance of protein tyrosine phosphatase PRL-1 in hepatocellular carcinoma
Our SNP-Chip data demonstrated 7/60 (12%) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients had PRL-1 copy number amplification. However, its biological functions and signaling pathways in HCC are deficient. Here, we investigated its oncogenic function and prognostic significance in HCC. PRL-1 protein levels were examined in 167 HCC samples by immunohistochemisty (IHC). The relationship of PRL-1 expressi...
